1. French
2. English & Spanish
4. Portuguese & Italian (I can understand what I'm reading but don't speak those languages)
6. Romanian (a little bit)

I also studied Latin but I don't think that will be useful there until Vatican get a Football Association.

1. English, Scots (native - though Scots is pretty useless as nobody writes it!)
2. Portuguese (intermediate, can have a conversation)
3. French, Spanish, Italian (can understand written)

I've never been too good at learning languages, so just English for me.

I know a few words and phrases from others (particularly German), but nowhere near enough to be considered a translation expert. I think that some foreign articles can be understood to an extent from key words and their similarities to other languages (although Google Translate obviously makes things a lot clearer), and from what I've seen German would probably be the easiest language to learn for someone who only speaks English.

If it counts, though, I am able to fully understand English English, Welsh English, Scottish English, American English, Australian English, Jamaican English - I could go on all night ...

I'm glad someone from England can understand Scottish English. I've even taken to speaking in a very clear, refined University-educated Scottish accented form of English - and still people don't understand me.
