Am I looking at the wrong contest? I thought South Africa won. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Miss_World_titleholders

I think men should have to have sexual experience with at least 50 confirmed women from at least 10 different ethnicities before voting for things like this (calling for another debate with nfm24). I don't know how some of these girls get on here... compared to some of them you can pick up hotter girls in bars here in frickin Milwaukee... and we're not exactly known for our hot chicks.

here's what i think (sorry, working 12 hours today and very bored):

I would say 51 women to be on the safe side, but only 50 of them have to be "confirmed women" (whatever that means).

I prefer brown eyed brunettes, especially from France. But I also like women who are mixed black and white or Midamerican half bloods. Nevertheless, the first woman that attracted me was Agneta from Abba.

A confirmed woman would be one that would verify the relationship. Any guy can say "i been with 100 girls" but very few can get that verified. Sleeping with 100 girls is probably quite an accomplishment for most men, but sleeping with 100 and getting them all to admit it means your opinion on women is probably top notch. Especially because they would be women the guy isn't ashamed of since he's releasing that information publically. The problem with these beauty pageants is that all these girls have no bodies... i mean, real men usually want a body, this just isn't a complete representation of feminine beauty.

Now the limit has gone from 50 to 100. Soon you'll just have Gene Simmons left.
But this suggests that you think the women are to be judged solely on some hypothetical sexual basis, even though that isn't part of the contest. Or that these are the same thing, i.e. "women" = "sexual experience with women".

For impartiality and fairness, I think the judges should all be homosexual men (possibly confirmed).

I'm not saying i think it should be 100, i was just using 100 as an example (in fact, less than 50 may or may not be suitable). I disagree with your second sentence though. In these contests there supposively is more than just looks, but if you look at them they all pretty much have the same skinny barbie doll look. Clearly physical traits of their first priority, and then everything else comes next. For my proposed pageant, I am just speaking of pageants in general, whether or not they have to do with more than sexuality... i am only addressing the physical attraction element of the contest.

It would not be fair to have homosexual men judging, because that will not tell us what straight men find attractive. This is a common problem with runway models, you can clearly see a lot of them are chosen by gay men. At the same time you don't want to have a straight inexperienced 22 year old (or 40 year old for that matter) who lives in his mom's basement judging the feminine beauty of the world, it's almost as disastrous as gay men judging. It needs to be men with experience, and not only that, but men experienced with different ethnicities of women.

Boo!

I consider myself a fine judge of women despite approaching 40 and being relatively inexperienced (in terms of number of women, not in terms of years being with women). I challenge your injudicious parameters.

Also, I think they should ban Miss World, as it encourages the objectification of women and gives legitimacy to the continued existence of those who seek experience with many women of different ethnicities just for the sake of it. In my opinion, an experienced man (or woman) is basically a failure at relationships.

Boo! Down with this topic!

What PG is describing sounds like one of those "hot or not" apps, where people make an instant judgment based solely on physical characteristics (and sexual possibilities).  I don't think you need a pageant for that, the internet has enough of it already.

While I am in favour of your call for more diversity in the contest, I wouldn't restrict that to just physical characteristics.

On Mark's point, "Miss Relationship" could be a new contest, but I fear it would not be inherently televisable in the same way.

OK but neither will any given set of judges, as people have vastly different preferences.  You only could get some sort of representative average, but we already know what that is - in your terms, it's the "barbie doll" default.

Anyhow, even if the contest was based only on simple physical characteristics, it should not be only heterosexual men who determine the winner.  Anybody can vote, and (possibly) anybody can become a judge.

Actually, how about opening the contest itself up to both genders simultaneously?

It's not a problem.  Modelling clothes, and turning you on, are two different things that shouldn't be conflated.

As opposed to those who do it for a genuine altruistic cause.

So if these two were still alive, they could have been worth a collective 500 judges (presuming they covered those ethnicity requirements):

As for the Milwaukee comments... I thought the stereotype was that "cold weather = hotter chicks" smiley: wink.
