This tournament is supposed to be an annual event from now on. I'm not sure if Curaçao has officially replaced Netherlands Antilles yet, but this would make sense. CFU, CONCACAF and FIFA websites still list Netherlands Antilles as members however.

I asked Neth Antilles FA/Curacao FA one hour ago and they replied me now :

"this will be a FIFA 'A'Match and Curacao wil take over the
Netherlands Antilles place in FIFA.
Regards
Franklin"

Why there's no Sint Maarten?

I guess a 4-team tournament is easier to organise - and these 4 are geographically closer. Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao have a healthy tradition and footballing rivalry - and Suriname/Curaçao also has a rivalry. Sint Maarten is geographically distant, they speak English, and just seem quite different from the others in terms of culture. There is also no Sint Eustatius and no Saba.

yes it is strange. Let's assume FIFA has to ratify the name change. Newly independent nations also don't get FIFA membership the day they got independence. I remember Montenegro was not an accepted FIFA member at the moment they played their first full international on 24-03-2007. The nation became independent on 03-06-2006!

Bonaire players have formed part of the Netherlands Antilles team (along with Curaçao players) for years. For the Netherlands Antilles team that played in the recent Caribbean Cup qualifiers, there were 2 or 3 Bonaire players in the squad of 20.

Bonaire has also played many 'internationals' against Aruba and Curaçao while all three were part of the Netherlands Antilles - sometimes to select the island which would play as the Netherlands Antilles in international competition. There are over 50 matches of Bonaire from 1960-1988 against Curaçao and Aruba.

Bonaire team from their 0-4 loss to Curaçao on 28th February:

Frans Richison, Danielo Trenidad, Cicilia Genaro, Edelbert Winklaar, Xedro Wever, Rilove janga, Berjantico Emerenciana, Leonard Coffie, Lacy Pauletta, Verney Agostien, Suehendley Barzey.

Reserves: Desmond Trinidad, Eldrith Alberto, Joelsten Koeks, Jurgen Royer, Rolando Janzen, Jursen Albertus.

Coach: Albert St. Jago; Assistant: Fortunato Paz.

It doesn't make sense for FIFA to list this match as Netherlands Antilles v Aruba. The Curaçao team plays under the FFK (Federashon Futbol Korsou), not the NAVU, and has a different kit (all blue instead of red and blue). FIFA does not include Tanzania matches in the CECAFA Cup for a similar reason (Zanzibar players cannot be selected) - so by this same rule, they should not include this match (Bonaire players cannot be selected).
