What teams can challenge USA and Mexico in the Gold CUp ? Haiti seems a good outsider that can creat some surprising results: winning the Carribean cup and now defeating Honduras and El Salvador.... Panama could be surprise like last time when they reached the final.... Will Cost Rica finally play an important role and what about Canada (it is not easy to have an idea of their strenght because they did not play qualifiers .... a shame) ?
I do not expect much from Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador or Trinidad. For Guadeloupe being there is already a succes, so lets hope they will surprise us.

I think it would be a big surprise if a team other than the US or Mexico win the gold cup. My best bet would be Canada as they have a lot of good players who are coming to there peak.

As the Roon Ba page says, the planned match Haiti vs Chile on 16th may has been called off. Why? Are there some reasons? It would have been the last presentation before Gold Cup. And I´m extremely curious how they will play there after the good results in april.

Now Chile will play twice against Cuba, which is also interesting, but not as well as Haiti in Port au Prince..

First game of the Gold Cup have being played and Canada have beaten Costa Rica 2,1 while Haiti and Guadaloupe drew 1,1. So a Non FIFA nation has picked up a point against a good Haiti while the team of my grandmother beat the third team of CONCACAF.

Good for Canada - looks like they will definitely make the quarter-finals now after beating the best team in the group. Every Gold Cup so far has went to a team from North America (USA, Canada, Mexico), so it would be nice to see a Central American nation win it for a change. Honduras, Costa Rica and Panama have all reached the final in the past. No Caribbean team has ever reached the final.

I could see Guatamala winning it this year as they have a good squad but with Costa Rica having lost to Canada i can see the trophy going to a North American team again.

USA - Guatemala 1-0
Trinidad & Tobago - El Salvador 1-2

In a german site I read that Trinidad and Tobago are competing with a complete new squad than the players we have seen in World Cup. The exception is Densill Theobald.
The reason is that the World-Cup players strikes, because of premiums due.

The Trinidad squad that playued at the world cup i think was a bit old and i think they might be starting afreah or some players are getting a rest after a long hard season.

Nathan, the world cup squad wasn´t as old as you think.
Dwight Yorke can still play in a high level, he plays for Sunderland.

I miss players like Kelvin Jack, Brent Sancho, Christopher Birchall, Dwight Yorke or Stern John.

I´m sure, with them Trinidad would be much better. Very sad..

I expect Guadeloupe will lose to Costa Rica, even though they have done well in their first two games. This would probably see them finish 3rd, and would put them into a quarter-final with the winners of Group B or Group C (probably USA and Mexico). They will probably finish 2nd in the group if they draw with Costa Rica (possible quarter-final with Panama) and will win the group if they beat Costa Rica (possible quarter-final with Guatemala).

Interesting results; good showing of Guadeloupe. Not so easy for Mexico, USA (already qualified) and Canada. Good results from Cuba and Panama; hard to predict but Mexico could be eliminated if they lose from Panama (last time finalist and a rising star in CONCACAF after years of poor results. I hope we can see some more surprises...

Is the Gold Cup on any UK TV channel? I know that the Copa América will be on Sky,, but I think the Gold Cup and the Asian Cup are not being covered.
