It is very remarkable until 1982 Luxembourg played much more matches against other countries B-national teams than against A-national teams. Even five matches against Germany in the 1935-1939 era (marked with a * sign) was played against a B-team, but German FA labelled these German teams as A-national team.
Here a combined list of official matches played by Luxembour against A- and B-national teams until 1982 (afterwards Luxembourg did not played against a B-team).

Some remarkable facts. If all Luxembourg’s opponents regard their matches played with a B-team against Luxembourg as official A:
-> Italy B 12-0 win on 10-04-1932 would have been Italy’s biggest win ever in a full international.
-> Czechoslovakia B 8-1 win on 21-05-1947 would have been their biggest win ever, this is equalled on 04-06-2005 against Andorra.
-> Belgium B 8-0 win on 09-05-1954 would have been Belgium’s biggest win ever in a full international.
-> Switzerland B 9-1 win on 14-05-1939 would have been Switzerland’s second biggest win ever in a full international.
-> Luxembourg would have been Belgium’s second most frequent opponents (93 matches) instead of Begium’s ninth most frequent opponents.
-> Luxembourg would have been France’s second most frequent opponents (50 matches) instead of France’s 15th most frequent opponents.

Sometimes it is not clear what team Luxembourg opponents fileded. Here you can read about the match Belgium 4-1 Luxembourg played on 10-05-1934 in Liege. This match is regarded official A by Luxembourg FA but not by Belgian FA. It is very unclear what the status is in Belgium. In some publications I read the Belgians called their team Rode Duivels/Diables Rouges (= Red Devils) which usually was an almost A-national team. Sometimes the Belgian team is labelled as B-national team

Here you can find the previewed line up. The match is labelled as Belgium - Luxembourg, the article names the Belgiam team a so called quasi A-team. Clicking at 11 May and on the left side Der Sport von gestern you can read the match report. You can also find the line ups, but more difficult.

The reports are in German but unfortunately also written in Gothic letters (which is hard to read for me). This is the best I can make of the Belgium line up: Badjou; Vandenbosch, Joacim; Peeraer, Hellemans, Claessens; De Vries, Voorhoof, Capelle, Grimonprez, Van Beeck. Watching the Belgian line up one may conclude this is rather an A-team than a B-team. Most of the players were regular A-national team players at the moment.

it is not very strange that Luxemburg played many B-teams: those teams gave them the chance to get a result....they were agood sparring partner for the Belgian B-team. The B-teams were important because in A-matches substistutions were not allowed in the same amount as today. I think there are no B-teams anymore in international football, but several youth teams....

Yes, should be noted that in most cases Belgium played an "A" match on the very same day. And I guess the "A" team is wherever the head coach would go.. On another note.. anyone ever seen a FLF list of official matches? They don't publish any on their website.

the 10 may game against Luxemburg is non official because the Belgian FA announced this match as B to FIFA but used it to prepare their national team to prepare for the WC games to come...The KBVB never requested FIFA to change the status of this match, so it remains Belgium B while it was the A team that played the game... (IFFHS)

8 players played the WC match against germany on 27 May, 3 others did not...so officially B, but in fact A-team.

An example of wrong labelling as discussed in many topics on the forum. But am I right this match will get the A-status if KBVB will request FIFA to change the status of this match? If yes, this means the discussion of following topics will change drastically.

Luxembourg labelled the 26-10-1960 match against Netherlands B (7-4 win for Netherlands B) as South Netherlands - Luxembourg. According to this article http://kranten.kb.nl/view/article/id/ddd%3A010678613%3Ampeg21%3Ap007%3Aa0155 it was Netherlands B that played the match. Three of the players mentioned (Schouten, Cees Groot and Piet Fransen) were not from Southern clubs and also not born in the Southern region (provinces Zeeland, Noord-Brabant and Limburg).

Henk Schouten played for Feyenoord and is born in Rotterdam which is in Western Netherlands.

Cees Groot played for Ajax and was born in Zaandijk which is in Western Netherlands.

Piet Fransen played for GVAV (Groningen) and is born in Groningen which is in Northern Netherlands.

Both these games were listed as "International Matches" in the FIFA Bulletins at the time.

Date was 27-03-1948, team was Netherlands B.

The game was part of an Amateur Triangular Tournament in Ilford, London, the other results:

26/03/1948 England Am - Luxemburg 1-2
29/03/1948 England Am - Netherlands B 2-5

Sources: De Waarheid, 30 March 1948 and Limburgsch Dagblad, 27 March 1948.

You are right, the date was a slip of the finger. The Dutch team however was labelled as B, but it was de facto Dutch A-national team as you also can read here http://www.rsssf.com/tablesa/amat48.html

Both these games were listed as "International Matches" in the FIFA Bulletins at the time.

Strangely enough many matches played by A-national teams against other countries B-national teams also were listed as “International Matches” in various FIFA bulletins, not as “International B-matches”. It is remarkable from the 1950s until the 1970s such matches were listed as “International Matches” or “International A-matches” when the home team was A-national team and listed as “International B-matches”when the home team was B-national team
