Should their matches be counted as A-matches like Sweden's League team? This would mean defeats to El Salvador and USA last year, and a draw with Honduras would be counted as A matches.

Denmark don't consider the matches official, with their usual A matches. They deliberately choose a home-based, development team. But on the other hand, some of the opposition countries count these as official.

The Danish League XI match against Singapore in 2006 was eventually a A match for FIFA because Singapore wanted this. Same with match against Hong Kong in 2006.

Other A matches on fifa.com
18.1 2004 USA
4.2 2002 Finland
2.2 2002 Norway
31.1 2002 Sweden
27.1 1999 Venezuela
22.1 1997 USA
19.1 1997 Peru
17.1 1997 Mexico
29.1 1995 Portugal
24.1 1995 Canada
13.2 1994 Hong Kong
10.2 1994 USA
30.1 1993 El Salvador

There is not much difference between the Swedish and Norwegian teams that play "NT" matches in January and the Danish XI. The Danish been smarter and avoiding normally the matches to be counted as A matches in fear of losing FIFA ranking points ?

I'm just wondering, if FIFA made the Singapore match an A-match because the Singapore FA wanted it, then why didn't the El Salvador FA 'want' the 1-0 win against Denmark last year to be counted?

I dont think that all the FA`s know if the match is a A match in FIFA`s records.

About the Singapore match , I sent a email to Singapore FA before that match and told them that Denmark did not want this match to be a A match and the Singapore President replied me that they did not accept that and they want this match to be recognized as a A match Eventually FIFA accepted this match as A match.

Denmark just published the squad for the friendly against Slovenia on 6 February. 4 players from the Danish league NT in Middle East are in the 17 men squad for Slovenia.

They are not in my team records, because they are the Denmark League XI, and not the 'real' national team. I have included only the Denmark League XI matches that have been counted as A internationals by FIFA.

Thanks Tanaka - I must have forgotten to delete them. They have now been removed, and the rankings have been recalculated...

Danish FA has two separate lists - for A team and for League selection. In cases FIFA has got the matches in the record the Danish must have beeen forced by some hosts to sign the FIFA report. IMHO that's the case of Singapur but this is agreed usually as early as before the match.

For 2009, Denmark's "league-national-team" (ligalandsholdet) is entering the King's Cup in Thailand:

This time Denmark have two players outside Danish League, one from Norwegian league and one from Swedish league.

Denmark have also said that if any teams want to have the matches in Denmark as A matches , then its ok for Denmark.

But how reliable is FIFA? Its list sometimes is a mess. As far I have browsed DBU website and Denmark League XI matches (from 1988 ) only in 1990, 92, 93, 95, 96 and 97 most of its players were regular A national team players. 2000 is different as Denmark League XI represented DK in the Nordic Cup. I also have results by Danish League XI in the 1984-86 era, but DBU give no line ups for these matches.

There have been many withdrawals from the original squad .

At the moment it seems that FIFA will not count Denmark`s matches in King`s Cup as A matches.

I checked the list released by the DBU, it seems that they are only using players from Denmark now. Of these players, most have only 1 or 2 caps, and sometimes have none at all.

i have just one question in this matter: does Danish FA consider this a national team match ? If not, it is a B-match or whatever we call it... Japan only fielded a B-team against Yemen but there is no doubt : this was an A-international because it is an official competition
